So here
we are --
June 22, 2008,
four of us siblings together, probably for the last time (Mark couldn't
make it), up at Paul &
Cathy's land in Isanti Co, where in the middle of a stone-encircled area
overlooking the lake, inside a glass urn inside a wooden box buried
under a foot or two of earth, most of Mom's ashes are buried.
Happy 80th Birthday

Hey Tom! |

Spot where Mom's ashes lay. |

Paul inscribed this cross with an
"E" for Elizabeth. |

The barn & workshops. |
 |
Dark in here. |
 |
From inside looking at Kelly. |
 |
What a tremendous amount of labor
went into this place. |
 |
. . . Tristin didn't come along
because he wanted to swing -- so I went
with him down to the lake instead of touring Paul's workshop
-- |
 |
Tristin happily swinging. |
 |
"Awright!" |
 |
A happy 11 year-old. |
 |
Having a grand time. |
 |
Tristin respectfully saying "Okay"
he'll be up at the
barn in a minute . . . |
 |
. . . so I left him swinging &
returned to the tour. |
 |
Evidence of Paul's labors
everywhere. |
 |
Into the woodshop. |
 |
Ground-level shop where Paul
crafts his spoons (he had shown me the various sanders &
grinders earlier). |
 |
Stairways ascending up, photo
turned sideways just for fun. |
 |
Heading up the stairs looking back
down. |
 |
Cathy next to a pile of spoons;
Paul said these took him about 10 days. |

Mike, Paul, Tom. |
