  •    Continuation of Hazard Letters (Nos. 127-162)

  •    1882-84 Fairhaven Slate Company (FHSC) articles of incorporation and minute book

  •    Martha B. Warren Papers (overlap with Hazard Letters; all from the same collection)

  •    See Photo Page 15 for duplicates of Martha B. Warren Papers presented here

All this bearing in mind that Martha Ballard was only five years younger than John Delehanty, lived less than a mile from him, and worked in and hung out at the company store where John Delehanty and his family often bought groceries.  There's got to be some clues about his life in here somewhere

Fairhaven Slate Company Papers, 1882-1884  (Photos 660-667)

660.  Fairhaven Slate Company Papers No. 1.  August 31, 1882, articles of incorporation of the FHSC, Samuel L. Hazard, Chairman and largest stockholder (changed to Hazard Slate Company a year later).  This and the following seven photos concern the FHSC, 1882-84, and are from a large bound ledger book kept on the shelf.  (The next 100 pages or so of this ledger book contain what appear to be Martha Ballard's drafts of various college papers, which for obvious reasons are not included here.)

666.  Fairhaven Slate Company Papers No. 7.

667.  Fairhaven Slate Company Papers No. 8.  Minutes of Meeting of January 1884.  A after this the minute book ends, and there begins a series of what appear to be drafts of school papers written by Martha Ballard.  These 100+ pages, filled with penciled writings, seem pretty interesting, but appear to include nothing in the way of a diary or narrative of daily events.  We therefore put this lovely ledger book back on the shelf and . . .
