Land Records for the Lake Bomoseen Slate Company (LSBC), 1889-1915

The first 4 of these records are reproduced elsewhere in these pages, but as we've said a little redundancy in such matters can't hurt.  The big thing that appears here is Penrhyn's buyout of LBSC in late May 1908, which on the heels of his brother John's sell-off in 1903 basically meant James Delehanty's retirement and the liquidation of the company.  The 1915 quit-claim deed appears to be the final end of the LBSC.

1595.  1963, July 31.  Death certificate of Ambrose Mathias Delehanty, age 77 [age of 87 and birth-year of 1876 given here are incorrect; he was actually born 11 April 1886, as amply documented elsewhere].  Cause of death arteriosclerotic heart disease, following operation of July 12 (less than 3 weeks earlier) for benign hypertrophy of prostate.  Usual residence Hydeville VT.  Buried Aug 3 in St Mary's Cemetery, Fair Haven.

1596.  1961, December 23.  Death certificate of Helen F. Delehanty, age 81.  Cause of death of arteriosclerotic hypertension, heart disease, cerebral thrombosis.  Usual residence McCann Cons. Home, Lake Street, Hydeville VT.  Buried St Mary's Cemetery, Fair Haven.
